So this is the start of a blog…..
Been tossing around the idea of starting a blog for a while, thought no better way to start it than with a dream picture for a Photographer. A Hummingbird caught frozen in mid-flight…. without wing blur. Why is this significant? Well because a Hummingbird’s wing speed is something like 55 wing-beats a SECOND. Yes thats right, per second. Typical shutter speeds are not going to be able to freeze that speed, so the body of the hummer will be frozen, but the wings will be a complete blur.

I caught this guy in my backyard while sitting on my patio. This just goes to show that it pays to have your DSLR with you and ready to go. He wasn’t around for very long, but long enough for me to capture this.
Keep shooting….
